Google Chrome overtakes Safari as 3rd most popular browser Buzz this

There is no doubt browser space is getting increasingly competitive now-a-days. In Nov 2009, Firefox's market share crossed 25% for the first time. Now, Google Chrome has surpassed Safari as the 3rd most popular web browser. According to Net Applications browser share data for December 2009, Chrome stood at third spot with 4.63% share overtaking Safari which has 4.46% share.

While Firefox's constant gain at the expense of Internet Explorer is expected, Chrome's recent dominance over Safari could be attributed to the availability of Chrome for Mac OS last month. We can expect these two browsers to trade positions as Apple and Google release their rumored products iTablet and Google Phone in coming weeks.
