If Netflix takes the route of charging membership fee for streaming service, they need to improve the service in terms of the number of new titles available and support for 1080p video quality and surround sound. I could see it working as a membership, "pay to join and then it's free to download/stream each movie" arrangement, to cover some of the expenses.
